China Southern Airlines (CZ) Flight Deals and Reservation

China Southern Airlines is a Chinese carrier operating flights to and from the United States and Canada. China Southern offers ticket reservations for and from US cities of Atltanta, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, Phoenix, San Diego and San Francisco. It also offers flight ticket booking to and from cities in Canada. These are Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Kelowna, Montreal, Ottawa, Prince George, Regina, Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria and Winnipeg. From these cities, it connects to Guangzhou, Wuhan and Xiamen in China. China Southern Airlines Baggage Policy

China Southern offers free cabin and check-in baggage allowances to its passengers.

It offers 1 pcs of cabin bag for Economy, Premium Economy and Business class and 2 pcs of cabin bag for First Class travelers. The size of each bag shall not exceed 45 inches in linear dimensions and weight shall not exceed 5 kg. Passengers are also allowed to bring in one personal item.

It also allows free check-in bags as well. In this respect, this is different from most of the US carriers that charge for the check-in bags. The free allowance depends on routes of the flights.

Maximum check-in bag weight is 32 kg for routes which do not involve US. Up to 45 kg maximum weight for each check-in bag is allowed for routes involving US destinations. For within China flights of the airline, excluding Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the maximum weight of check-bag shall be 50 kg.

For US routes, the free check-in baggage allowance is 2 pcs of 23 kg for economy class, 2 pcs of 32 kg each for Business Class and 3 pcs of 32 kg each for First Class. Size of bag shall not be more than 158 cm in the sum of dimensions. Infants are allowed 1 check-in bag of 10 kg of linear dimensions 115 cm.

China Southern Airlines Methods of Check-in

You can check-in to the China Southern Airlines using any of the following three methods of checking-in provided by the airline. These methods are:
a) Airport check-in - This can happen either by way of checking-in at the airline counter at the airport or using the kiosk machines. The cut-off time for being at the counter varies from airport to airport. However, in general, it is 30-45 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time. So, you must check-in within this time frame. Kiosk machines are available at select airports in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and a few other international airports, such as London Heathrow, Seoul Incheon, Tokyo Narita, and Vancouver.
b) Online check-in - This method of check-in can be used when you are eligible to use it. This is also available on departure from certain cities. You must check with the airline whether the online check-in supported on departure from a particular city or not.
It opens 1 or 2 days before the scheduled departure time of the flight and is available until 60 minutes before the flight departure time.
c) Mobile check-in - You can check in using the mobile application of the airline. This is supported by some cities, therefore, you must call the airline to know whether your departure city supports it or not.
In general, the online check-in opens 1 or 2 days before the flight departure time and it remains available till 35 to 60 minutes before the flight departure time, depending on the departure airport.

China Southern Frequent Flyer Program

The program can be joined by filling an online form and submitting the filled form to the airline contact centers.

There are three levels of membership;

c) Gold Card, equivalent to SKYTEAM ELITE PLUS

A new person joining the program gets the Base membership. This can be upgraded to Silver level by earning at least 20 EQSs or 40000 km of EQMs in a calendar year. Further, the Silver membership can be moved to a higher level of Gold membership by earning at least 40 EQSs and 40,000 km of EQMs.
