COPA Airlines allows free cabin and check-in baggage allowances. The free allowances and charges vary depending on the cabin class booked, the number of check-in bags being carried, frequent flyer membership status and the route of flights.

The first check-in bag is free for all routes and cabin classes passengers. The free allowance is of 1 check-in bag of 50 lbs for economy class and for PreferMember Silver members. Business class passengers are also allowed 1 check-in bag free of weight 70 lbs. All other frequent flyer membership holders are allowed 1 check-in bag of maximum 70 lb weight.

Cabin baggage allowance depends on frequent flyer membership status. Cabin baggage shall be less than 118 cm in sum of linear dimensions. If oversized, these have to be checked in. Free allowance is 1 cabin bag of 22 lbs for Silver and regular members, irrespective of cabin class of travel. It is 2 bags of 22 lbs each for higher-level members traveling in Executive class and 1 bag of 22 lbs for passengers traveling in Main Cabin class.

COPA Airlines Check-in Methods

COPA Airlines offers different methods of checking in on the flights. These are designed to help passengers save time and remove hassles at airports. Following are the different ways in which passengers can check-in on the airline:
a) Web check-in - This mode of check-in opens 24 hours before and till 1 hour before the scheduled departure time of the flight. Passengers with check-in baggage are, however, required to report to the check-in counter at least 90 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time.

c) Check-in Counters: You shall report to the airport check-in counter at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight for international flights. For domestic flights in Panama and Colombia, you shall be at the counter at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure time of the plane. For flights departing the US, this time is 3 hours and for flights departing Venezuela, the time is 4 hours. Checking in at counters closes 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
d) Self Service kiosks: COPA airlines provides self-service kiosks in some hotels in Panama City. You can use these web stations for checking in.

Copa Airlines Frequent Flyer Program

ConnectMiles is the frequent flyer program of the airline. The program can be joined by filling out an online form. You immediately get the joining benefit of 1000 miles and another 500 miles can be had on the first flight of the airline or any of its alliance partners.
